Pitso Mosimane has brought in Botswana head coach Morena Ramoreboli as his assistant with Bafana Bafana, ahead of the 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign.

Stepping down and stepping up
SAFA and the Botswana Football Association have confirmed that Morena Ramoreboli will step down as Botswana’s head coach to join Bafana Bafana’s technical team as assistant to Pitso Mosimane, ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Ramoreboli leaves Botswana having guided The Zebras to the 2024 AFCON, their first appearance at the tournament since 2012, initially as interim coach before being handed the role permanently in January 2025.
At club level, he won two Botswana Premier League titles with Jwaneng Galaxy and twice took them to the CAF Champions League group stage, including wins over Orlando Pirates and Wydad AC.

Not his first rodeo
He isn’t a stranger to the Bafana Bafana setup either, having previously led the team to the 2021 COSAFA Cup title without conceding a single goal.
BFA president Oabile Tariq Babitseng praised his contribution to Botswana football and wished him well in the new role, while SAFA president Danny Jordaan said Ramoreboli’s regional knowledge, tactical flexibility and experience across CAF competitions would strengthen Mosimane’s technical team as preparations begin for the AFCON qualifying campaign.
