No rain delays could slow down Jannik Sinner from winning his second Miami Open title, capping off a historic four-week run in which he became the eighth man to achieve the demanding Sunshine Double, winning both Indian Wells and the Miami Open.

Jannik Sinner won the Miami without dropping a set.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Jannik said, “It’s a very, very special moment. Coming here, performing again in a very good way after Indian Wells, means a lot to me. Finals are always very, very different and difficult to play. It was not easy today, but I’m very, very happy.”
Jannik Sinner’s dominant spot serving in clutch moments propelled him to win his second Miami Open title.

Remarkably, WTA world no.1 Aryna Sabalenka achieved the same feat in the women’s final on Saturday by winning Miami to add to her Indian Wells title earlier in the month.
In 2019, Sabalenka pulled off the Sunshine Double in doubles with Belgian Elise Mertens, making her the only one to do it in both singles and doubles.
Sabalenka won the title with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 victory over Coco Gauff, becoming the second player to repeat as Miami Open champion since Australia’s Ash Barty in 2019 and 2021.
Sabalenka and Sinner become the fourth man and woman to win the Sunshine Double in the same year, with previous winners including Pete Sampras and Steffi Graf in 1994, Federer and Kim Clijsters in 2005, and Novak Djokovic and Victoria Azarenka in 2016.
Sabalenka said, “It means a lot to win. My goal has always been to put my name in history, and I just did it. It just sounds so unreal. I don’t know how I was able to achieve that, but I’m super proud right now. Of course, super happy with this beautiful trophy.”
