Sundowns Show Composure To Beat Golden Arrows
Mamelodi Sundowns kept their winning momentum going with a 2–1 victory over Lamontville Golden Arrows at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
The Brazilians made a confident start and were rewarded just before the half-hour mark when midfield star Teboho Mokoena calmly slotted home after a neat combination between Khuliso Mudau and Aubrey Modiba on the edge of the box.
Sundowns doubled their advantage early in the second half. Iqraam Rayners rose above the defence to head home from Arthur Sales’ clever chipped pass, taking his league tally to nine goals this season.
The match took a tense turn moments later when Jayden Adams received a red card following a dangerous tackle on Ayabulela Maxwele. Despite being reduced to ten men, Sundowns remained composed and managed the game carefully.
Golden Arrows pulled one back through Junior Dion, who converted a penalty in the 78th minute after Mudau handled the ball while attempting to block a cross.
The visitors pushed for an equaliser but Sundowns held firm to secure their sixth consecutive league win, keeping them level on points with Orlando Pirates in the title race.

Pirates Leave It Late In Polokwane
Orlando Pirates also secured an important 2–1 win, defeating Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The Buccaneers controlled much of the first half, creating several chances but struggling to find the breakthrough. Polokwane goalkeeper Lindokuhle Mathebula kept his side in the game with impressive saves, including a key stop against Evidence Makgopa.
The deadlock was finally broken early in the second half when Relebohile Mofokeng scored with a header to give Pirates the lead. The young attacker marked the moment in style on the same day he was named Betway Player of the Month.
Polokwane City refused to back down and stunned the visitors with an equaliser in the 86th minute through Bonginkosi Dlamini.
However, Pirates had the final say. Substitute Patrick Maswanganyi struck a dramatic winner deep into stoppage time, securing three valuable points and maintaining Pirates’ position at the summit of the table thanks to their superior goal difference over Sundowns.

The match became even tougher for the hosts when Thando Ngwenya was sent off in the final 20 minutes after receiving a second yellow card.
Magesi nearly stole the win late in the game when substitute Edmore Chirambadare fired a long-range effort that struck the woodwork.
