Panic disorders, anxiety and high stress are real. Some people experience them on the highest level that requires them to take tablets to remain calm.

Others may also take them for different reasons that are valid to them such as insomnia, muscle tension, palpitations, etc. The tablets are available by prescription and over-the-counter.

Calming tablets, including both over-the-counter herbal supplements and prescription anti-anxiety medications, often work by sedating the central nervous system to reduce anxiety or aid sleep. While generally intended to help, they can cause a range of side effects, from mild discomfort to severe, long-term issues.

In this article, we will shine a light on the severe and long-term issues. According to Footprints recovery, in some cases, sedatives can cause euphoria. They also tend to cause other side effects that include poor judgment, memory issues and coordination problems. Severe effects may also include agitation, aggression, paranoia and suicidal ideation.
