A tough night for United as West Ham dig deep

Manchester United’s momentum finally slowed on Tuesday night as West Ham United held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw in east London. This result ended the perfect start that new manager Michael Carrick had enjoyed since taking the reins.
United arrived in confident form after four straight league wins that included hard fought victories over Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur. But the Hammers came into the game fighting for survival and matched United for intensity.
Their reward came early in the second half when Tomas Soucek steered in a cross from Jarrod Bowen. United thought they had found a response after Casemiro netted from close range, only for VAR to rule it offside.
Deep into stoppage time, Benjamin Sesko flicked in a clever finish from Bryan Mbeumo’s delivery to deny West Ham a crucial win. It was a blow for the Hammers, who remain just two points from safety in a tight relegation battle.

Tottenham’s alarming slide continued as they suffered a 2-1 home loss to Newcastle United, leaving them sitting 16th and only five points above the drop zone.
Supporters made their frustrations clear, directing chants at head coach Thomas Frank after the match. Spurs have now gone 11 matches without a home league win, and the pressure is rising fast.
Newcastle dominated early on and took a deserved lead through Malick Thiaw in first half stoppage time. Spurs briefly found hope when Archie Gray equalised, but it lasted only minutes as Jacob Ramsey restored Newcastle’s advantage.
The Magpies’ victory marked only their third away league win of the season, but one that keeps them drifting comfortably clear of danger.

Chelsea let it slip as Leeds fight back

Over at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea saw their push for Champions League football stall in a dramatic 2-2 draw with Leeds United.
Chelsea raced ahead with goals from Joao Pedro and a penalty from Cole Palmer, keeping them on course for what would have been a fifth straight league win under new manager Liam Rosenior.
But Leeds clawed their way back when Moises Caicedo conceded a penalty, allowing Lukas Nmecha to pull one back. Moments later, Noah Okafor poked in the equaliser after a chaotic scramble in the box.
Chelsea should have won it late on, but Palmer astonishingly missed an open goal, leaving Rosenior visibly frustrated on the touchline. For Leeds, every point matters as they continue edging away from relegation danger.
