DStv viewers’ normalcy may be shaken up after MultiChoice warned that 12 popular Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) channels may be removed from the platform starting 31 December.
This will depend on the ongoing discussions between MultiChoice and WBD. The negotiations between the parties are still underway, and no agreement has been reached at this stage. If this remains unchanged a number of WBD may not be available on DStv from January 1, 2026.
DStv issued the alert on Monday through an on-screen pop-up and an email sent to subscribers. MultiChoice explained that the current distribution agreement between the company and Warner Bros. Discovery is set to expire at the end of the year.
“The distribution agreement between MultiChoice and Warner Bros Discovery is scheduled to end on 31 December 2025. While discussions between the parties continue, no agreement has been reached at this stage. If this remains unchanged, a number of Warner Bros Discovery channels may no longer be available on DStv from 1 January 2026,” the company said in a letter to subscribers.

- TLC
- Discovery Family
- Real Time
- TNT Africa
- Food Network
- HGTV
- Investigation Discovery
- Cartoon Network
- Cartoonito
- Travel Channel
This comes shortly after Paramount Africa had confirmed that BET Africa and MTV Base will shut down on January 1 2026, with CBS Justice and CBS Reality.
