Fans Can Relax: Ye’s Show is Still On
After weeks of uncertainty and swirling rumours online, Ye’s highly anticipated South African concert has been officially confirmed. The Monyake Group, the event’s organisers, released a statement reassuring fans that the show will take place on 13 December 2025 at Ellis Park Stadium, Johannesburg.
In a firm declaration, the group addressed claims circulating on social media, saying:
“The agreement between Monyake Group and Yeezy LLC is valid and in good standing. Preparations for the concert are progressing in line with the signed contractual terms. Any claims about deregistration, non-payment, or breach of contract are entirely untrue.”
The statement underlined the organisers’ commitment to delivering a world-class concert experience while urging the public to rely only on official communications for updates.

The Rumours That Shook Fans
The reassurance comes after claims made by Musa Khawula on X (formerly Twitter), suggesting that the Monyake Group was in deregistration with CIPC, had failed to make payments to West’s management, and was generally mismanaging the event.
Samuel Monyake of Monyake Group responsible for bringing Kanye West to South Africa is a scam and a fraud.

Khawula alleged that West’s fee had originally been $8 million, later reduced to $5 million, with an initial $1.25 million instalment due by 20 September 2025. According to him, the Monyake Group had requested a five-day extension, raising fears that the concert was at risk.
He further claimed that, without sponsor backing, ticket sales alone would have to fund West’s payment, noting that only 6,000 tickets had been sold so far.
Fans Split Between Skepticism and Excitement
The online reaction has been mixed. Some fans expressed caution:
“Not that I don’t trust the promoters bringing Kanye West to SA… I just don’t trust Kanye not to waste my money,” said @nickpagemat, highlighting concerns about the artist’s unpredictability.
Others questioned why fans were doubting the announcement in the first place:
“Multi Grammy Award-winning and multi platinum album selling artist Kanye West tweeted from his own account that he is coming to South Africa, but we don’t believe him. We have been injured for too long,” commented @Rxndai.
And optimism shone through on platforms like X:
“Kanye West doing a concert in South Africa might be his greatest decision he’s made in recent years,” @mikestrypes wrote.

The Monyake Group emphasized that they are committed to ensuring compliance, safety, and a top-tier fan experience, amid heightened scrutiny from social media and press.
With the concert date just weeks away, the Monyake Group continues to finalise preparations, while fans eagerly anticipate the event. The organisers have reiterated that any future updates will come directly from them or authorised partners, urging the public to disregard false online claims.
