The younger brother of the late DJ Sumbody has recently reacted to General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi’s comments on what led to the killing of the musician.
Last week, Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi appeared in front of the Ad Hoc Committee, where he made bold allegations following Julius Malema’s questioning on why Katiso Molefe was arrested for the murder of DJ Sumbody, and not for being the mastermind behind the alleged drug cartel.
Responding to the EFF leader, the top cop explained that the motive of the killing was, in fact, drug-related.
He explained:
“The picture you are going to see when the matter gets to court is that this one thought he was clever by stealing this one’s drugs, and he started selling them, and this one then killed him. So, not to say the victim is a clean man on drugs. He died because of something that he did wrong to this one”.
According to Koketso Sefoka, the younger brother of the musician, this could not be any further away from the truth.
In a recent interview with eNCA, he said:
“We don’t understand where these allegations are coming from, and which we all review as just media houses or individuals peddling lies to remove focus from what is currently happening with the case and to put some form of responsibility on my brother. You know, because he’s no longer here, it seems as if he’s a scapegoat and an individual easy to go to because he will not respond,” he said.
Meanwhile, Katiso “KT” Molefe has since been released on bail. Koketso adds that while this is a difficult thing to process, they have come to respect the court’s judgement.
