Unofficially deemed as two of South Africa’s few real powerhouses, Nomzamo Mbatha and Bonang Matheba have joined forces for an unexpected McDonald’s advert.

Bonang Matheba and Nomzamo Mbatha are no ordinary names in South Africa’s entertainment industry. These two women have come to represent the pinnacle of success for many who look up to them. Both starting from humble beginnings, these trailblazers have worked tirelessly to establish themselves as figures to keep an eye on in their respective lanes.

With a charming and witty personality, coupled with her ability to command a space and a killer smile, Bonang Matheba has established herself as a world-renowned presenter, and has scored significant gigs such as hosting the coveted Miss SA finale, as well as the 2024 Earthshot Prize Awards. On the other hand, Nomzamo Mbatha has not only captured the hearts of South African viewers, but also made a name for herself in international film, which has also opened various doors outside of acting for her.

The lack of evidence of public interactions between Bonang and Nomzamo did not stop fans from pushing murmurs alleging tensions between them. These whispers intensified after the pair failed to even acknowledge each other others’ presence at the 2024 Earthshot Prize Awards.

With all of this considered, this recent collaboration with McDonald’s has come as an absolute surprise to fans. The cryptic “Those who know, know” caption by Bonang has further fueled these rumours, as fans reveal that they believe that this was Bonang’s way of revealing that they had squashed the beef.
