Fifth Harmony Makes a Triumphant Return in Dallas, But Camila Cabello Is Missing

by Zaghrah Anthony

Fifth Harmony Hits the Stage Again, Four Out of Five

Fans in Dallas were in for a nostalgic treat on Sunday, August 31, as four members of Fifth Harmony made a surprise appearance during the Jonas Brothers’ concert. Normani Kordei, Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke, and Dinah Jane performed their 2015 hit “Worth It,” sparking a wave of excitement across social media.

Camila Cabello, who left the group in 2016 to pursue her solo career, was absent from the reunion, reportedly touring in Australia. Yet, her presence was felt online, where she posted four red heart emojis on a fan’s post celebrating the performance.

A Tease That Turned Into Reality

The surprise didn’t come out of nowhere. Hours before the concert, Fifth Harmony’s official Instagram account posted for the first time since 2018 with the hashtag #FifthHarmonyFollowSpree, sending longtime fans, known as Harmonizers into a frenzy of speculation. When the four members stepped onto the stage, the excitement turned into sheer delight.

Normani even addressed the audience, asking, “Y’all remember Fifth Harmony?” before launching into the iconic choreography and vocals of “Worth It.” Fans online shared videos and reactions, many declaring it one of the most emotional concert moments they had witnessed in years.

The Legacy of a Girl Group That Defined a Decade

Fifth Harmony’s story began in 2012 on The X Factor, where Simon Cowell grouped five solo singers into one girl group. Over the next six years, they released three albums and several platinum-certified hits. Songs like “Work From Home” and “Worth It” solidified their place in pop music history, with “Work From Home” reaching No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

After Camila’s departure in 2016, the remaining four members continued until 2018, when the group announced an indefinite hiatus. Since then, each member has pursued solo projects, Normani with chart-topping singles, Kordei releasing her debut album Dopamine in 2024, and Ally and Dinah continuing their musical journeys.

It cannot be called an official reunite when the most important member (Camila Cabello) is not part of that “official” reuinite and more be called fifth harmony when there are 4.

A Glimpse of What’s Next

This Dallas performance isn’t just a nostalgic throwback, it’s a hint at something bigger. Rumors have been swirling that Fifth Harmony is planning a full comeback in 2026 to mark the 10th anniversary of their album 7/27 and the enduring success of “Work From Home.” There are also reports of a documentary in the works to chronicle their return to the stage.

While many Harmonizers were thrilled to see the four members together again, not everyone was fully satisfied. Some argued that a true reunion requires Camila Cabello’s presence, pointing out that the group was formed as five.

On social media, X users shared mixed feelings:

“It cannot be called an official reunite when the most important member (Camila Cabello) is not part of that ‘official’ reunite,” wrote @lumaccoo.
“Camila ain’t even there. It’s giving off-brand,” added @hard_tingz.

Despite differing opinions, the performance in Dallas highlighted the enduring bond between the members and the loyalty of their fanbase. Harmonizers, new and old, reveled in the moment, showing that Fifth Harmony’s music still resonates and that the world is ready for what comes next.
