Vuyo passed away on May 19, 2013, at the age of 46, after he collapsed in the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein while he was watching a rugby match. He kept mzansi company in the weekday mornings while many were preparing for work and school, by keeping them on the loop with current affairs on SABC2’s Morning Live alongside Leann Manas. He was known and loved for phrases he commonly used on the show, such as, ” Shap Shap” and Eita daar.”
Recently, Savita took to her Instagram page to share a picture of her and her husband while reflecting on life without him. She shared that she vividly recalls the voice of the doctor who confirmed his passing and wrote: “We tried our best, but we couldn’t save him.”
“So much has happened since, but what remains is that you are the best we’ve ever had,” she penned.
