Following his recent trip to Africa, Grammy-award-winning musician PJ Morton has raved about his time spent in mzansi.
While South Africans are generally described as being some of the most hospitable people to meet, the singer whose real name is Paul Sylvester Morton Jr, has praised mzansi for yet another one of its famous attributes – the food.
In conversation with the news publication Citizen, ahead of his return to the country, PJ praised the food served by locals in our beautiful country.
Speaking to the publication he shared some of his culinary experiences while spending time in the country.
“I ate kota…I had chicken feet in South Africa. I loved it.”
“First, I had to figure out where I wanted to bite first. They brought it to me at the studio. They took my wife to the hood.”
The Citizen reports that during his time in the country last year, he drew inspiration from his surroundings and created the Cape Town to Cairo album. This was inspired by his 30-day trip across the rest of Africa.
