Siboniso Dlamini, known to South Africans as Msawawa is making a return to the music industry.

Known for making history as the youngest kwaito musician in mzansi at just nine years old, Msawawa quickly became a household name in the early 2000s with his energetic hits and signature style, “Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, Msawawa lo!”  that captured the hearts of many.

At 35 years old, Msawawa told TshisaLIVE that he never truly left the music scene, having continued making music behind the scenes. He stated that his upcoming single is not a comeback, as those who have followed him know he has remained active in the industry. He has collaborated with Vukani on a song titled “Izandla Phezulu,” featuring Calvinator from Uzalo, with a music video planned for shooting in Johannesburg and Durban.

“This isn’t a comeback, people who follow me know I’ve been in music. This single I’m going to release is not a comeback,” he told the publication.

Msawawa remains active on his Instagram, where he frequently shares updates about his busy schedule, including performances of his old hits and work with his Msawawa Youth Charity Foundation.

Although he’s no longer the little boy who first captured the public’s attention, Msawawa told Daily Sun that people sometimes forget he’s grown up, joking that they still call out to him in the street as if he’s still that young star, without the respect befitting his age.
