JR’s Feel Good live sessions return

What started as a small silly idea, has blossomed into one of South Africa’s most cherished projects in the music industry. Needing a way to connect to his audience and not being able to physically do it due to lockdown restrictions, Tabure Thabo Bogopa Junior, professionally known as JR created the Feel Good live sessions.

Three seasons later, the rapper-turned-entrepreneur has established one of the most authentic and entertaining series and has become the go-to for music lovers looking for more ways to connect to their favourite artists. The popular show will be making its way back on YouTube for a fourth season, after responding to entertainment commentator Phil Mphela’s report on its alleged return. “Mara what don’t you know?! Yeah, the rumour mill is correct! We are back, and we are LIVE!” the response read.

Mara what don’t you know?!! ???

Yeah, the rumour mill is correct! We are baaack, and we are LIIIVE!?

“It’s a platform created by a musician and music executive for the audience. The most successful music shows in the world were all developed by music executives because they know music, and if your show is going to be about music, you need to keep the main thing, and that’s what makes us authentic. That’s why we always give artists their flowers; we always show them appreciation,” JR tells News24.

JR has established himself as one of the music industry’s most versatile players, as he began his illustrious career in front of the mic as a songwriter, and has managed to move to a more behind-the-scenes role in various aspects.

“I play different roles in the industry. I’m the creator and owner of Feel Good Live Sessions. I’m a shareholder in the longest-running music festival in Durban called Paradise Beach Club, which happens over 10 days in December. I hold different roles in the industry that support different pillars of the industry. I support production, television, and film production. I support music artists from the back end. I support labels by advisory and consultation. I support artists by producing their music. So, I play different roles. I never get bored.” he says.
