DJ PH, whose real name is Phind’Gcobe Madubela is facing a financial setback that could cost him his prized possession, a 2024 BMW 330I M Sport Pro A/T (G20) which is valued at nearly R2 million.
The DJ from the Eastern Cape acquired the luxury vehicle in January 2024 through his company DJ PH Productions (PTY) LTD.
According to the Daily Sun, BMW Financial Services South Africa represented by SRSM Attorneys sought a High Court order at the Gauteng Local Division to reclaim the BMW from DJ PH. The court summons, seen by the Daily Sun revealed DJ PH breached the agreement by missing payments accumulating arrears of R41 764.41 leading to the lawful cancellation of the contract.
The company stated that DJ PH is now unlawfully possessing the vehicle and must return it. Despite being given 10 days to resolve the issue through alternative dispute resolution and attempts to contact him over 20 days, DJ PH remained unresponsive.
The mentioned publication also states that DJ PH acknowledged missing a debit order payment but claimed he was unaware of the legal proceedings until recently, noting that he has made arrangements to address the arrears and update his details with BMW.
“My account is still active with Alphera Financial Services (BMW). The debit order date is still meant to run off as normal. Yes, a debit order was missed. A payment plan for that debit order, with its arrears, has been made. It was with their pre-legal department.
“In terms of court papers, I haven’t been served (hence I wasn’t aware of it until you brought it to my attention Friday). I’ve updated them with my details and, as mentioned, made a plan for a debit order,” he explained.
