Newly appointed Minister of Sports Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie has vouched to work on his body weight as he sets to lead a portfolio with active people for the next four years.

Gayton is popular on X (former Twitter) for sticking to his word and going after what he wants.

The former convict who served almost 10 years behind bars has worked hard to build lucrative businesses even though many doubted his abilities.

He later trended on social media platforms after he announced he was joining politics by forming his own political party with many sharing that he wouldn’t go far in politics.

Currently, the Patriotic Alliance leader is not only a member of the National Assembly but, he also holds one of the biggest portfolios in government.

Taking time to share his plans to stay active on his X platform, Gayton shared:

“I did my first run from the parking lot to the airport gate because I was late this morning. I promise to join @tumisole & friends from next week to run every day. You can’t have such an overweight Minister of Sports, Arts & Culture. I must look like my job.”

Internet users were chuffed with the minister’s post, taking time to comment:

If this “Look like your job” principles can also be applied in the Police department, yerrr phela those folks are overweight.

Another user shared:

To be honest. I would be an amazing flex if you got buff while being minister of sports.

Go for runs and training sessions with the various teams, especially those that don’t get enough media attention.
