The internet battle between content creators, Nara Smith and Onezwa Mbola seems to have made it in the retail world.

This is after Checkers allegedly released a new advert campaign that is inspired by TikTok content creator’s videos, Nara recently. Nara is known for making food from scratch while speaking in a soft tone. The content creator made bubblegum, cornflakes and Snickers chocolate bar for her husband.

Recently, a TikTok user with username @rumaana_ took to their page to share the Checkers advert; with a caption that read, “The person who runs Checkers marketing needs multiple raises.”

Another user with the username @vamp_ell also shared the same video on the popular app, where TikTok users weighed in on the advert.

One user said, “I just checked and they have ‘Looking for a man in finance’,”

Another user commented: “Checkers marketing always on point,”

“You don’t have to be Nara and make things from scratch kesana.. they’ve got you.” said one user.

Onezwa, a Masterchef SA contestant, cooks food that she has raised, grown, or foraged herself, according to The Citizen.

The chef takes her followers on a journey when she prepares her dishes. Truly made from scratch, Onezwa, talks you through her dishes step by step, in a calm soft voice. With over 100k followers on Instagram.

On the other hand, influencer Nara has had TikTok in a chokehold with her version of “made from scratch”. She has a distinctive style and has everyone on alert when she starts with: “This morning my children wanted, or my husband has been craving…”

Nara has recently been accused of copying Onezwa’s dishes, style, and even her voice-over sound.
