The new Government of National Unity officially opened parliament, electing President Cyril Ramaphosa to return as the seventh democratic president of the Republic of South Africa.
One person who was ecstatic to have made his way to parliament is former convict, turned businessman and now a member of parliament Gayton McKenzie whose plan is to rid the country of crime, corruption, and illegal foreigners while not taking a single cent of the taxpayer’s money.
Yes, you heard right. The Patriotic Alliance leader took to his X (former Twitter) to promise that he would not be using his parliament salary for his own benefit but instead, he would give it all to charity.
“I am giving hundred percent of my parliamentary salary to a charity that is looking for missing children, I will also make substantial donations to the charity besides my salary contribution. I hope this settles the, ‘he is there for the perks and salary’,” said Gayton.

This declaration comes after the politician shared that he has been proving those who keep doubting his abilities wrong from when he shared he’d be a businessman to when he declared he was joining politics and would be in parliament.
The salary donation post attracted a lot of responses from users who commented:
