5 Reasons you should never get acrylic toe nails

Thinking of getting acrylic on your toes? Think again, and I know it might look aesthetically pleasing but rather be safe than sorry.

The TikTok girlies have warned you multiple times to not ever consider doing acrylic on your toes and I agree they only belong on your hands.

As someone who loved getting acrylic on my toes, I had to change and rather opt for the gel as the acrylic looked very heavily applied and untidy let me tell you about the nail growth with acrylic nails, it makes it look like you are not a tidy person busy walking around with long toenails.

According to BlossomNails Spa, acrylic toes can cause your toenails to be infected with fungus leading to swelling and discolouration as trauma, such as bumps or stubs, can cause thick, discoloured toenails. Acrylic nails are rigid and inflexible, resulting in ingrown toenails when flexed. This can lead to severe toe infections that require medical attention.

Centre for Beauty gives 5 reasons why you should not get acrylic toenails:

  1. Acrylics on toenails can cause discomfort or infections.
  2. Acrylic toenails are usually too strong and may cause you to struggle with your daily activities such as: wearing shoes, walking or running.
  3. Acrylic causes damage to your natural toenails when being removed.
  4. Acrylic cannot be in contact with the skin tissue.
  5. Acrylic toenails are fake nails attached to your natural nails which causes your toes to not grow properly and produce a fungal infection as the moisture is often trapped underneath the nail.

WATCH THIS:

@dejonnnn_ Acrylic is bad for toes because, it doesn’t allow the natural toenail to breathe. It creates an environment for FUNGUS to thrive on top of the nail and nail bed. It also prevents the nail from growing properly. #nailtech #medicalpedicure #medipedi #foryoupage #foryou #satisfyingvideos #satisfying #fungalnail #toenails #nailcaretips ♬ original sound – Gabby✨
