The conversation about the book written by a famous journalist and author Melinda Ferguson, When Love Kills: The Tragic Tale of Anele and AKA continues.

The book is about the two love birds that passed away two years apart, Anele Thembe died in 2021 after she fell from the tenth floor of the Pepper Hotel in Cape Town, while her finance AKA who was gunned down in Durban last year was present at the same venue at the time.

Clearing the air, AKA’s family wrote a statement claiming that they are not associated with the book in any way, “We are not in any way associated with Melinda Ferguson’s book and we do not endorse it. In the same breath we distance ourselves from the contents of the book.”

“When Melinda reached out to us, we respectfully and rightfully declined to contribute to her book. At this stage we cannot give any further comment on the book as we are unaware of its contents,” they added.

The statement was concluded by, “We do however find the intended publication of the book and the timing distasteful and opportunistic.”

The book was promised to be available on the shelves from this week. People have expressed their excitement about the book since the announcement while they were also concerned about the author.

She did mention in the announcement post, “It’s been a real journey to get this out. It nearly killed my own relationship. It’s a story that broke my heart.”
