Springbok captain Siya Kolisi has reportedly blessed his father, Fezakele Kolisi, with a new seaside home located in Gqeberha.

As reported by the publication The South African, during a recent interview, Fezakele shared that Siya bought him a house in March last year in Bluewater Bay “next to the sea.”

In the past, Siya shared that he and his father had not had the best relationship. However, they have since bonded over the years. IOL shares that the rugby star spent most of his childhood in Zwide under the care of his grandmother after his mother, Phakama, died when he was 15 years old.

In February 2021, Siya shared on Instagram:

“I slept with a light heart phezolo because I had a much-needed deep conversation with my father. I’m not sure about the relationship between time and healing, but I now know that in time we can grow the courage we need in order to take the first steps towards healing.”

He added, “The relationship with this man is important to me and I’m glad for the opportunity and strength to keep fighting for it. oGqwashu, oGxiya, oManzini, oLawu abahle.”

Speaking about the Rugby World Cup victory, Fezakele said in his interview that the win was still new for him.

“It’s even worse that it’s a back-to-back victory. I was happy with the first World Cup. I will never forget it. Siya is happy and the family is happy with him. We don’t meet [often, but], he [Siya] comes back [home] maybe every six months.”

Siya currently resides in Paris, France with his wife Rachel Kolisi and their two children — son Nicholas and daughter Keziah. The award-winning flank signed with the French rugby team Racing 92 and moved to the country following his World Cup win.
