South African musical artist Lindo Sithole professionally known as Lindough shows gratitude to Freddy Gwala for allowing him to sample his song and working with him.

Lindough recently dropped a song called Ok’salayo that features DJ Active, Freddie Gwala and Kingshort. The song is sampled from Ngekhe Ngiphinde by Freddie Gwala.

Taking to Instagram, the artist shared a series of pictures of himself, Freddie and the rest of the team performing the song.

In his caption, he wrote, “Bab’Freddy Gwala you’ve said beautiful words to us, that I don’t think we will ever get to hear from any musician in this planet. We took a risk by remaking your song, changed the lyrics and the melody.”

He added that he was sceptical about the whole idea as he was scared of the internet and Freddie’s reaction.

“I’ll never forget when you said, (Yeerrrrr the day I heard this song, I was like yesesss abobani labafana abashaye ingoma yami kamnandi kanje [who are these guys who remixed my song so nice]). you fell in love with the song before you even recorded your verse,” he added.

Lindough added that sharing the stage with Freddie melts his heart let alone when he sings it.

“This is a lifetime achievement even Valdo’s (Lindough’s son) generation is now exposed to your voice. You Are Such a Blessing in this industry,” he added.

He concluded his caption, “I pray that one day our South African industry can gift you with an achievement Award.”
