Have you ever sang a Lady Du song without starting off with her WaWa tag? If that’s the case, then you are doing it wrong. While the tag may come across as short and catchy, many may wonder where the “WaWa” blueprint began for her.

The multi-award winning artist Lady Du is quite hard to miss with her powerful vocals, trendy dance challenges, and consecutive hits that are guaranteed to get people of all ages singing along and dancing.

The WaWa tag has now become a catchy line that has become a huge part of Lady Du’s brand and image. While many listeners and supporters may have wondered what the significance of this tag is, Lady Du has come to express that her daughter is the master behind it.

Explaining how this tag came, Lady Du shared in a viral Instagram video that the tag resulted when she had taken her daughter along with her to a studio recording session. Seeing that the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree, her daughter asked if she could be part of the song that was being made.

Due to the content of the song, Lady Du contended this request because of age restriction purposes. The young queen did not back down easily as she then debated to have some form of contribution to the song. Upon listening to her daughters idea, Lady Du brought a spin to the “Mama” idea and turned it into “WaWa.”

Explaining that she couldn’t use the mama tag, she said, “Okay, I can’t do the mama as a tag but as a legacy for my daughter it’s mama upside down.”

The artist further surprised those she was in the presence of as she explained, “So for every song that I’m on when I say WaWa, you must know you have to pay my daughter 2%.”
