Singer and dancer Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona professionally known as Makhadzi, reportedly suffered an assault this past weekend while performing in Zimbabwe. The Matorokisi hitmaker arrived late for her slot, Zimoja claims that fans were upset by that and her lackluster performance.
Makhadzi gave a performance on Good Friday in Mutare, Zimbabwe. According to reports, fans had to wait for the artist for hours until she showed there at 1AM. Not only was she late, but she also appeared to be lip-syncing and her two dancers put on a pretty mediocre performance.
Partson “Chipaz” Chimbodza, the show’s organizer, has finally opened up and apologised about Makhadzi’s performance in Mutare, Zimbabwe, which was a complete disaster on Good Friday. In a statement obtained by IOL, he said:
“It’s true that bottles were thrown onto the stage but they were not targeted at Makhadzi as claimed on the social media and other media outlets. When Makhadzi appeared on stage, fans jostled to catch a glimpse of her and broke barricades demarcating the VIP enclosure and ordinary side.
“This did not go down well with fans in the VIP and the pushing and shoving resulted in bottles being thrown towards the VIP section.
“It obviously appeared as they were targeting Makhadzi but the few minutes she performed, people were very happy,” Chipaz added.
In the past months, Makhadzi has been in the news for missing gigs.
Rabelani Madula accused Makhadzi with breach of contract after paying the full booking fee of R20,000. She stopped returning his calls and responding to his messages, he told Daily Sun. “I first ran into her during Makhadzi Family Day at Giyani Stadium on December 26, she promised to pay me after the performance when I first saw her, he told the publication.”
“The goal of setting up this gig was to recover my money from her. I knew she would receive R100,000. On December 29, when that gig was scheduled to take place, I was truly hoping for payment. I tried to contact her again after that gig, but she ignored me,” he explained.
“She said she did not have money but promised to perform instead. She said I must organise another event, which is supposed to be on Sunday, 29 January. But again, she’s ignoring me,” he alleged.
