The 42-year-old comedian and actor, Trevor Gumbi celebrated his sobriety on Twitter. He was proud of himself for beating alcoholism, even though he had only been sober for five months.

He shared a photo of himself sweating after one too many drinks and captioned it:

“Today, my little sobriety baby is 5 months old and we celebrate cause we’re slowly getting to bury this sweaty drunk guy, bit by bit.”

Twitter users chimed in to encourage Trevor to keep going. They praised him for deciding to give up his bad habit.

One user wrote, “Congratulations broer. Step by step. I am not at that point yet alcohol wise but proud to say 25 months as a non smoker. Even got joined by 2 associates.”
Another wrote, “Recognizing that something is becoming or is already a serious problem in your life and taking action to rid yourself of that something is a powerful display of strength and character. Not many people get there on their own. I wish you the very best in your journey.”
Last year, Trevor had a major setback, which he used as material for his show. “If you can’t laugh at your problems, you’re not funny,” he said. “A bad comedian is one who lets good shows enter his head while bad shows enter his heart.”
Trevor has been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years and even through setbacks and hardships, he always comes back.
