Exploring the therapeutic effects of yoga

by Ncumisa Lerato Kunana

Yoga incorporates the entire body, including the mind, into its practice. Research has shown there is a connection between your mind, body and spirit. Healing one of these does not result in complete recovery. It is crucial to treat all three areas. Yoga can help you with this.

It is a method of teaching that incorporates breathing exercises, yoga poses, meditation, and mindfulness. This is so that you can benefit from both mental and physical improvements.

Vibrance Health notes that there are many benefits of yoga. One benefit that many people enjoy is becoming more flexible and less stiff. It also improves blood flow and heart rate while lowering blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and stress.

Yoga teaches you to pay attention to both your mental and physical health needs. Outside of yoga, you will notice an increase in concentration. This practice is also said to relieve stress, boost the immune system, and regulate digestive issues.

Furthermore, yoga therapy can boost self-esteem, which can aid in decision-making and encourages you to continue working on yourself.

Healthline highlights that, yoga therapy improves circulation, metabolism, and builds pain tolerance. You may also notice increased strength, better sleep, improved balance, and a better mood. The happier you are, the better you feel. And when you feel good and happy, you are more likely to have a better social life and a more positive outlook on life.

There are many great yoga therapists out there waiting to share their knowledge with you, and help you resolve any mental or physical issues you may have.
