Why you should use vitamin C on your skin

When it comes to all-round health support, Vitamin C is a gold standard. Not only does it strengthen our immune system, it also helps our skin to protect itself from the damaging impact of free radicals.

Vitamin C Booster strengthens the skin while plumping up wrinkles for a fresh and more radiant look, with noticeable improvements after just seven days of daily use.

Sun, air pollution, smoke: there are countless sources of free radicals, which can cause oxidative stress and have a negative impact on our well-being as well as on our skin by accelerating skin ageing. Oxidative stress can influence the metabolism of our cells, for example by causing skin cells to produce enzymes which break down the collagen and elastin that give skin its plumped, youthful appearance.

As a result, our skin looks dull and less youthful. One thing we can do to prevent this is to help our immune system by eating a vitamin-packed diet – We can also support our skin’sdefence mechanisms as well.

Vitamin C is one of the gold standards in dermocosmetics. Its anti-oxidative power offers skin external protection against oxidative stress, preserving it from the damaging impact of free radicals. Yet since the body cannot produce its own Vitamin C, it relies on us to provide it. This is where the new Eucerin® Hyaluron-Filler Vitamin C Booster comes in. ‘Vitamin C is a powerful all-rounder’, explains Anne-Marie van Geloven, Senior Medical Manager atBeiersdorf.

‘It is key in the synthesis of collagen, responsible for skin’s strength and stability and avery potent antioxidant. For the new serum we found inspiration in dermatological treatments and combined pure Vitamin C with Hyaluronic Acid, skin’s filling substance. The powerful combinationworks as an effective anti-ageing regimen’, says van Geloven.

The short-chained Hyaluronic Acid penetrates deep into the epidermis, where it stimulates the skin‘sown epidermal synthesis. To boost the anti-oxidative effect of the Vitamin C, the serum also contains Licochalcone A: it protects skin from further damage caused for example by UV-rays and HEVIS light. This combination of uniquely powerful active ingredients leads to excellent results in skin care.

Freshly activated pure Vitamin C for better efficacy

As Vitamin C oxidizes quickly, it needs to be protected from air and should only be activated when needed.
