Orlando Pirates back in action as Durban City FC visit Soweto

It is match day for Orlando Pirates, who return to Betway Premiership action later this evening, 17 September 2026, when they host Durban City FC at the Orlando Amstel Arena in Soweto.

The match is scheduled for 19:30, with the Buccaneers looking to continue their league campaign after a two-week focus on CAF Champions League football. The fixture is confirmed by the Premier Soccer League and Orlando Pirates’ official match centre.

Buccaneers ready for a battle

Pirates come into the match after progressing in the CAF Champions League. The club’s official website reported that the Buccaneers came from behind against Mauritius’ La Cure Waves to secure their place in the next round of the continental competition.

The return to domestic action now puts focus back on the Betway Premiership, where Pirates will be aiming to collect points against a Durban City side that has travelled to Soweto for the encounter.

Durban City confirmed ahead of the match that the team was preparing for the away clash against the defending champions.

The fixture also comes during a busy period for Pirates. After tonight’s match, they are scheduled to travel to face Marumo Gallants on Sunday, 20 September 2026, according to the PSL club’s fixture list.
