It is official, Mzansi! The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has proudly announced that iconic sports broadcasters Andile Ncube and Vusiwe Ngcobo will serve as the primary broadcasters for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Andile Ncube and Vusiwe Ngcobo take the lead
Viewers can look forward to comprehensive tournament coverage hosted by the sports presenters who will guide audiences through the action with expert analysis, commentary and insights throughout the competition.
SABC’s S3, together with SABC 1, will serve as the two main channels to broadcast the international soccer tournament, delivering extensive coverage of the world’s biggest sporting event to South Africans at large.

2026 FIFA World Cup officially begins tomorrow
The 2026 FIFA World Cup gets underway tomorrow, Thursday, 11 June 2026, with the Opening Ceremony broadcasting live on SABC1 and S3 from 18:30 to 21:00. This is predicted to be the largest FIFA World Cup ceremony in history, celebrating the unifying power of football and bringing different cultures from across the globe.
Immediately after the Opening Ceremony, our boys, Bafana Bafana, will take on Mexico in the tournament’s opening match at 21:00.

The FIFA World Cup is one of the world’s most significant sporting events, and we are proud to bring South Africans closer to the action through S3 and SABC1.

- England vs Ghana – Tuesday, 23 June 2026 at 22:00
- USA vs Australia – Friday, 19 June 2026 at 21:00
