According to Sunday World, the bodies were discovered this past weekend, with the victims believed to be men between the ages of 20 and 30.

Eastern Cape police spokesperson Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa confirmed that the circumstances surrounding the deaths are being investigated.

Police conducted enquiries in the surrounding area in an effort to identify possible witnesses, but those efforts did not immediately produce any information that could assist investigators.

No arrests have been made at this stage

The investigation has been handed to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit (SVCU).

Police are calling on members of the G-West, Walmer, and Gqeberha areas who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area or who may have information about the killings to come forward.

The investigating team is being led by Lieutenant-Colonel Monde Sithole. Anyone with information is urged to contact Lieutenant Sithole on 082 457 2812, their nearest police station, or SAPS Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

IOL reports that police have not yet disclosed a possible motive for the killings, nor have they publicly identified the victims. The discovery of the four bodies has prompted a murder investigation as detectives work to establish what happened before the men were killed and identify those responsible.

At this point, the investigation remains ongoing.
