Mmabatho Montsho shares her clay hair mask routine

Award-winning director Mmabatho Montsho recently shared her clay hair mask routine. The star who isn’t afraid to experiment with colour on her hair shared that this routine helps prevent any damage while colouring her hair.

Mmabatho shared that while she’s no hair expert, this routine works for her hair texture. She said in part; “I’m not a hair guru. This is simply how I take care of my own hair and what works for me. I have high density, fine/thin strand, low porosity, 4c hair.”

On colouring her hair, she shared in part; “I bleached the top 10cm with peroxide over 3 days until I saw the colour I liked (I cover the hair with coconut oil before bleaching – and do a protein treatment and deep condition the next day after bleaching). I’ve trimmed the bleached ends over the last 6months to about 5cm. (I trim often). Lastly and again, I’m not a hair guru.”

Nobantu Knots ? (My other name -from my maternal grandmother – really is Nobantu.) I did a short hair care routine since some recurring questions about the bleached (blonde) ends. I’m not a hair guru. This is simply how I take care of my own hair and what works for me. I have high density, fine/thin strand, low porosity, 4c hair. I bleached the top 10cm with peroxide over 3 days until I saw the color I liked (I cover the hair with coconut oil before bleaching – and do a protein treatment and deep condition the next day after bleaching). I’ve trimmed the bleached ends over the last 6months to about 5cm. (I trim often). Lastly and again, I’m not a hair guru. ? PS. Everything on this list is available at a normal grocery store.
