The song features kwaito icon Professor alongside emerging talent Meez. The music video was creatively directed and executive-produced by Unathi herself as a tribute to Soweto. This era in Unathi’s music is described as the era of personal and artistic rebirth.

According to The Citizen, when asked about working with Professor, Unathi said, “I have admired Professor for years and wanted to release something meaningful before I release the full album this spring.”
Her return to music carries extra emotional weight after a difficult chapter in her life. She publicly shared that her father, Sakhiwo Nkayi, had passed away in December 2024. After the loss, she stepped back to focus on her family.
Unathi continued that she hasn’t been in a creative mindset for some time, explaining that the death of her father and her desire to prioritise her children led her to take time to “regulate” herself creatively—before returning with a new era of music and visuals.
Earlier today, she dropped the visuals to her Isikhwele.
