‘I was so scared’
Sydney explained that she was carrying a six-pack of Coke when the incident happened. She said she noticed a getaway car nearby, which made her believe the robbery may have been planned.
Despite being attacked, Sydney refused to let go of her phone and fought back against the man. She estimated that the attacker was around 24 or 25 years old at the time, while she was only 18.
Looking back on the incident, however, Sydney admitted that resisting the robber could have put her life at greater risk.
She questioned whether it had been wise to fight back, acknowledging that the situation could have ended much worse if the attacker had been carrying a firearm.
