The apple does not fall too far from the tree, the gift for playing football runs in the genes of the Radebe men.
With a father who is arguably one of South Africa’s greatest footballers and a brother who was a promising player in his younger years – it appears that the talent for moving a soccer ball around the field was something, Kutlwano Radebe, the son of Bafana legend Lucas Radebe was born to do.
The 14-year-old from Trinity House High School recently had the opportunity of a lifetime to showcase his fantastic footwork and overall footballing abilities on international soil where he will be travelling to Spain to attend soccer trials.
While it has not been confirmed which club he would be going to yet, his school recently took to social media platforms wishing him well as he travels on his quest to impress overseas recruiters.
“A huge congratulation to Kutlwano Radebe, a grade 8 student at Trinityhouse Centurion High School, who has been scouted to attend international trials in Spain this January!”

Kutlwano currently plays at the Club Football Academy Mainstream which is based in Olifantsfontein.
“We are so proud of this incredible achievement and can’t wait to see what the future holds!” the school wrote in their post.

If successful Kutlwano will be the second player in his family to make a name for himself on European soil. This comes after his father Lucas has earned himself the respect of many international supporters during his tenure at the English club, Leeds United.
Last year the club invited their former captain, affectionately known as, “The Chief”, as a special guest for a Yorkshire derby match against Sheffield United. He was brought onto the pitch at half-time and later videos showed him sharing some words of encouragement and inspiring the new generation of players that’s coming through the ranks.
