Media personality and activist Ngizwe Mchunu has addressed viral allegations claiming that his wife, Floda Mthimkhulu, popularly known as Floda Graé, was involved in an affair with a Nigerian businessman. This comes after social media users circulated videos and photos from a recent event in Cape Town.

The rumours quickly gained traction online, prompting widespread speculation about the couple’s relationship.

According to iReport South Africa, the controversy began after footage surfaced showing Floda Graé attending a social gathering where Nigerian businessman Pablo Venz was also present. Social media users subsequently speculated that the pair were romantically involved, despite no evidence being presented to support the claims.

Ngizwe Mchunu breaks his silence

Responding to the allegations, Ngizwe dismissed the rumours and defended his wife against what he described as false and damaging claims. Ngizwe reportedly expressed frustration over the rapid spread of unverified information on social media and urged people to refrain from making assumptions about his family’s private life.

The outspoken activist, who has frequently found himself at the centre of public controversy, maintained that there was no truth to the allegations and emphasised the importance of respecting his family’s privacy.

Nigerian businessman also denies claims

Pablo, the businessman linked to the rumours, has also publicly denied any romantic involvement with Floda Graé. In statements addressing the controversy, he said that the assumptions made online were based on misinformation and that he and Floda Graé had simply attended the same social event.

According to Pablo, the viral speculation was fuelled by misleading interpretations of social media content rather than factual information. He urged the public to stop spreading what he described as “fake news” about both himself and Floda Graé.

“Please stop spreading fake news. I don’t know this so-called girl whose picture is being posted alongside mine on blogs. That was a birthday party, and everyone attended separately.

“There were more than 30 guys there, yet somehow people decided to create a false story that she was there with me. Because I’m the popular one who fits the story. Let’s stop the misinformation and respect the truth,” his Instagram story read.

The dangers of viral misinformation

The incident has once again highlighted how quickly unverified claims can spread online, particularly when they involve public figures. Social media platforms have increasingly become spaces where speculation can rapidly evolve into widely accepted narratives, often before the individuals involved have an opportunity to respond.

While public interest in celebrity and influencer relationships remains high, media experts continue to caution against sharing unverified allegations that can have serious consequences for the people involved.

For now, both Ngizwe and Pablo have categorically denied the allegations, with no evidence emerging to substantiate the rumours circulating online.
