New Zealand soul sensation TEEKS has arrived in South Africa ahead of his highly anticipated three-city tour, with the singer set to make his long-awaited South African debut in Cape Town tonight.

Teeks entertains South Africans
The Māori singer-songwriter, whose real name is Te Karehana Gardiner-Toi, will kick off the tour at the Grand Arena, GrandWest, tonight, 27 August 2026, where he will share the stage with British indie-pop duo Good Neighbours.
The show is scheduled to begin at 8pm, with doors opening at 7pm.
The performance marks TEEKS’ first-ever live appearance in South Africa, a milestone that comes after years of building a strong following among local music fans.

From New Zealand to Mzansi
TEEKS has developed an international reputation for his soulful vocals, vulnerable songwriting and emotionally charged performances.
He first gained attention with his 2017 EP The Grapefruit Skies before cementing his reputation with his 2021 debut album Something to Feel.
South African fans have particularly embraced his music through songs such as First Time, Remember Me, and Without You. First Time became a major favourite locally and has been certified double platinum in South Africa.
Speaking ahead of his debut, TEEKS said he was grateful for the support he has received from South African listeners and excited to finally perform for the people who have connected with his music from afar, IOL reports.
3 Cities, 3 different experiences
Following tonight’s Cape Town show, TEEKS will travel to Durban to perform at The Station on Friday, 28 August 2026.
The tour will conclude in Johannesburg on Sunday, 30 August 2026, when TEEKS performs at Parklive Jozi Festival at Marks Park in Emmarentia.
His Johannesburg appearance will form part of the festival’s wider programme, with South African artists including Nasty C, Elaine, Rowlene, Will Linley, Apple Gule and Matthew Mole also announced for the event.
Tonight’s Cape Town concert is also a meeting of two international sounds, pairing TEEKS’ soulful, R&B-influenced style with the upbeat indie pop of Good Neighbours.
