Miss World South Africa 2027 calls for aspiring beauty queens

Aspiring South African beauty queens have the opportunity to take the first step towards representing the country on the Miss World stage, with entries for Miss World South Africa 2027 now open.

The pageant is searching for its next South African representative ahead of the Miss World 2027 festival in Tanzania, which is scheduled for May 2027. Tanzania will host the 74th Miss World Festival.

Who can enter Miss World South Africa 2027?

According to the published entry requirements, applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens.
  • Be between 18 and 26 years old.
  • Have a matric certificate or higher education qualification.
  • Be unmarried and not mothers.
  • Meet the organisation’s stated eligibility requirements.
  • Have no visible tattoos.
  • Submit a copy of their South African ID and highest qualification.
  • Submit two photographs — one head-and-shoulders image and one full-length photograph.

There is no height requirement, and there is no entry fee.

Applicants who progress to the semi-final stage will be invited to attend a workshop scheduled for 31 October 2026 in Johannesburg, with the venue still to be confirmed.

Entries close in October

Those hoping to enter Miss World South Africa 2027 have until 26 October 2026 to submit their applications, reported by Youth Village.

The opportunity comes under the leadership of former Miss South Africa and Miss World Africa Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala, who secured the Miss World South Africa franchise through African Beauty International.

For aspiring contestants, the competition offers a potential route to the international Miss World stage, where South Africa has previously enjoyed success, including Rolene Strauss’ 2014 Miss World victory.

With Tanzania preparing to welcome contestants from around the world in 2027, the search is now on for the South African woman who will carry the country’s flag at the global competition.
