The 38-year-old sat down and discussed his experience with production and being married to Laurinda.

Obren Masuku on secrets and rumours

In a promotional clip for the Unscripted Network podcast, Obren addressed one of the biggest issues he faced on the show: the Secrets and Rumours list. Viewers have always wanted clarity on one thing: who the information came from.

“That list, the majority of the items on there, about myself, were conversations I had with Laurinda as my wife,” he claims, seemingly debunking what Laurinda and castmate Esethu Seku have maintained since the episode where they held Nompumelelo Sobopha accountable for the list.

Obren then stated the alleged instances in which Laurinda was privy, including his aspirations as a businessman and building his mother’s house.

“Everything that was said on there was real conversations that were had between me and Laurinda. I took Laurinda to Soweto on a drive to show her where I come from and what I’m building at home, and that’s why I was so offended because it meant a lot to me,” he expressed.

Obren Masuku seemingly defends Nompumelelo Sobopha

Whilst still speaking bout the matter of Secrets and Rumours, Obren points out yet another accusation against him at the reunion.

“Remember in the reunion, they said I launder money? I don’t know who said that; I think it was Esethu, who is very close to Laurinda, so I know where she picked it up,” he alleged.

“You are so adamant in accusing this 24-year-old of something that she didn’t say. I asked Nompumelelo if it’s true that you know someone who knows me, and she said no. I can prove to you that Laurinda made up that lie to make it more believable for Nompumelelo to have said those things,” Obren claims.
