South African musician Makhadzi has announced that she is opening a new record label.
The singer who has been going back and forth with Open Mic Productions over the auto-renewal of her contract has taken a leap of faith as she opens her own record label named Makhadzi Entertainment.
Before announcing her new record label, the Ghanama hitmaker dragged Open Mic Productions backstage after receiving her Metro FM Music award for Best Female Artist. While speaking to the host Somizi Mhlongo after winning her award, the singer showed appreciation to Open Mic, and also dragged the record label saying she wants her money.
Makhadzi, whose real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, continued to drag the record label as she then took it to Twitter after her contract was auto-renewed.
“Auto-renewal EP loading under Makhadzi entertainment. After 15 years of hard work. I will be getting to know how much I make on sales for the first time in my life. All thanks to everyone who was booking me all these years I was not gonna afford to live.”

And now, despite pending contractual issues with the record label, Makhadzi announced her new record label was officially up and running as she caption the post saying:
“Let me re-introduce myself. My name is makhadzi muimbi from #makhadzientertainment.”
