As reported by The South African, her helper (affectionately known as ‘Flo’) filed a case with the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) alleging unfair dismissal and unfair treatment linked to a vehicle arrangement during her employment.
According to reports, she claimed that she was fired by Anele’s husband, Bonelela “Buzza” Mgudlwa, amid rising tensions following several disagreements.
The Zimbabwean national further rubbished claims that Anele purchased a car for her, stating that she was asked to trade in her own car for a vehicle which was ultimately registered in her employer’s name.
Anele has since responded to state that Florence was fired for several instances of misconduct, including theft and dishonesty.

Online, this matter has not failed to spark online debate. Some users referenced Anele’s past public stance on fair pay for domestic workers, calling the dispute ironic after her 2023 post slamming R2,500/month helper ads as “evil”.
Others noted that CCMA settlements are not admissions of guilt and pointed to Anele’s claims of misconduct by the former employee.
