Award-winning rapper Cassper Nyovest put a social media user in check after they brought up his past beef with the late Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes. Cassper and AKA had been feuding for over a decade, making it one of the biggest South African hip hop rivalries in history.

On 31 May 2026, Cassper hopped onto X to share how impressed he was with American rapper Jay-Z’s freestyle, which he performed at a Roots Picnic music festival. Many speculated that the billionaire threw shots at Drake, Kanye West, Dame Dash, and more.

Cassper posted, “Notice how Jay’s bars have n*ghas arguing about the actual intent, trying to decode what exactly he’s saying? A lost art. Everything is surface-level nowadays. Nothing left to the imagination like half-naked IG models.”

Seeing the post, X user @Shadaya_Knight commented, “Cassper, with all due disrespect, you could have shown us this art during your beef with AKA. Composure, composure.”

Just after midnight on 1 June 2026, the Doc Shebeleza hitmaker asked the public to let AKA rest in peace.

Supa Mega was shot and killed in a suspected paid assassination outside a restaurant in Durban.

Cassper added in his response, “Like y’all just pushing me to disrespect the man, and I’m not like that. I respect his family and his loved ones who went through something very traumatic and tragic. This conversation is not gonna end well, so yeah, y’all can have it. Congratulations!”

People online headed to the comment section after seeing Cassper’s plea to let his past feud with AKA stay in the past.

@Cool_Authi asked Cassper, “Are you going to address the part about the art, or are you just focused on the departed?”

@MovieBuffBoyZac shared their opinion, “You could have ignored his tweet. But you wanted to be the bigger man and have the last say.”

“A very dignified response, ” wrote @molefe_sello.
