Former Build One South Africa (BOSA) Gauteng MPL Ayanda Allie has officially joined ActionSA, just days after her expulsion from BOSA. The move marks one of the most talked-about political developments ahead of South Africa’s 2026 local government elections.
ActionSA confirmed that Allie has been appointed as the party’s Gauteng Election Campaign Ambassador for Issue Driving, a role focused on strengthening its campaign across the province.

Why did Ayanda Allie leave BOSA?
Allie’s departure follows a lengthy internal disciplinary process at BOSA that resulted in the termination of her membership. The party said it had exhausted mediation efforts before reaching its decision.
Allie, however, has maintained that the breakdown in her relationship with the party stemmed from disagreements over party levies, constituency funding and the resources required to perform her duties as Gauteng’s only BOSA MPL. She chose not to appeal the decision.
Why ActionSA?
Speaking at the announcement, ActionSA president Herman Mashaba described Allie as an experienced and hardworking leader who would strengthen the party’s campaign ahead of the November elections.

Allie said she had long admired ActionSA’s work both inside the Gauteng Legislature and within local communities. As reported by IOL, she added that ActionSA’s focus on community service and developing women leaders was among the factors that influenced her decision to join the party.
