Actress, presenter, voice-over artist and businesswoman Zinzi Zungu is the brains behind this event. She tells us what the conference, taking place at the Olive Convention Centre in Durban from 13 to 16 July, is about.
1. The conference aims to enlighten young people about the television industry. It will host key players under one roof for an in-depth discussion and insight into the industry. Young people often make mistakes that hinder their progress, and I want this conference to enlighten them about the dos and don’ts of the industry.
2. I invited influential people to come and share their knowledge.
They include actor and producer Akhumzi Jezile, celebrated actress Zikhona Sodlaka, singer and actress Tumi Masemola, comedian and actress Celeste Khumalo and casting director Obey Muchipisi. These speakers have information that will be beneficial to newcomers in the industry.
3. Actors, directors and casting directors will be part of the educational panel discussions.
They will cover subjects such as how to be cast for a role, branding, business etiquette as well as profitability in the industry. There will also be question and answer sessions that will lead to robust debates and information sharing. Everyone is welcome.
