Buccaneers ready for a battle

Pirates come into the match after progressing in the CAF Champions League. The club’s official website reported that the Buccaneers came from behind against Mauritius’ La Cure Waves to secure their place in the next round of the continental competition.

The return to domestic action now puts focus back on the Betway Premiership, where Pirates will be aiming to collect points against a Durban City side that has travelled to Soweto for the encounter.

Durban City confirmed ahead of the match that the team was preparing for the away clash against the defending champions.

The fixture also comes during a busy period for Pirates. After tonight’s match, they are scheduled to travel to face Marumo Gallants on Sunday, 20 September 2026, according to the PSL club’s fixture list.

With league points at stake and the Buccaneers balancing domestic and continental commitments, attention will be on how they respond to the demands of another competitive fixture.

For Pirates supporters, the message is simple: It is match day in Soweto, and the Buccaneers are back in league action.
