Unathi recently performed at the Loud In Africa Concert Series, held at Racket NYC on Friday, 14 August 2026. The event brought together African artists and music lovers in Manhattan, with Nigerian highlife star Flavour headlining the concert.

The New York performance formed part of Loud In Africa’s efforts to showcase African talent to audiences around the world. Unathi was among the artists on the line-up alongside Flavour, Naomi Achu, Prince Bright of Buk Bak, Bruck Up and 2Cent.

A special moment for the singer

Following the performance, Unathi described the experience as deeply meaningful, crediting God and her ancestors for being present during the occasion.

She also reflected on her childhood experiences and the connection she has always had with African music and culture.

For Unathi, performing on an international stage represented more than simply another show. It was an opportunity to connect with audiences away from home while celebrating African creativity and music.

Fans turn out for the sold-out show

The performance also became a significant moment for the Loud In Africa Concert Series, with the New York event drawing strong interest from African music fans.

Earlier promotional material for the concert announced Unathi as one of the performers for the 14 August event, while organisers encouraged fans to secure tickets ahead of the show.

The event’s sold-out status added to the excitement surrounding Unathi’s appearance and highlighted the growing appetite for African entertainment among audiences in the diaspora.

Unathi continues to expand her international footprint

Unathi’s New York performance comes as she continues to build her presence beyond South Africa.

Her association with Loud in Africa has seen her participate in the platform’s international music projects, giving her opportunities to perform alongside artists from across the continent.

The collaboration also reflects the increasing demand for African musicians and entertainers on international stages.

A milestone worth celebrating

For Unathi, the New York performance was ultimately about more than a sold-out event. It was a celebration of African music, culture and the journey that has taken her from South Africa to an international audience.

With the support of fans in New York and across the diaspora, the singer continues to prove that South African talent can command attention on global stages.
