After years of inspiring audiences through fashion, travel and luxury lifestyle, Sarah Langa has officially entered a new chapter with the launch of Sarah Langa Interiors, an interior design studio dedicated to celebrating African creativity, craftsmanship and contemporary living.

Sarah Langa takes inspiration from Africa
The announcement follows a successful debut at Decorex Joburg 2026, South Africa’s premier décor and design exhibition, held at the Sandton Convention Centre. During the four-day showcase, Sarah unveiled the Sarah Langa Interiors brand to thousands of visitors while also participating in two thought-provoking panel discussions, sharing her vision for the future of African design and intentional living.
Located at 12C Kramer Road in Kramerville, Johannesburg’s renowned design district, the new Sarah Langa Interiors studio offers a carefully curated collection of furniture, décor, artwork and interior styling. More than a design studio, it serves as a creative space where African stories are translated into timeless interiors through collaborations with local artists, designers and manufacturers.
“Interior design has always been an extension of how I tell stories,” says Sarah Langa. “With Sarah Langa Interiors, I want to create spaces that feel deeply personal while celebrating the incredible creativity, craftsmanship and heritage that exists across Africa.”

What to see at the studio
One of the most talked-about pieces at Sarah’s Decorex showcase was the Umshanelo Chair, a conceptual furniture piece inspired by the traditional African grass broom found in countless South African homes.
The word Umshanelo refers to the hand-crafted grass broom used across many African cultures for generations – a simple household object rich with history, tradition and symbolism. Sarah transformed this familiar cultural icon into a contemporary design statement, using natural grass as both inspiration and material to explore texture, craftsmanship and functionality in a completely new way.
The Umshanelo Chair embodies the philosophy behind Sarah Langa Interiors – finding beauty in everyday African objects and reimagining them through modern design. It demonstrates how indigenous materials and cultural references can shape globally relevant interiors while preserving the stories that make them meaningful.
Throughout the exhibition, visitors experienced Sarah’s distinctive design language – one that balances warmth, sophistication and authenticity while championing locally made products and African artisans. Her approach reflects a growing movement towards interiors that prioritise craftsmanship, sustainability and cultural identity over passing trends.
