How the allegations emerged
The controversy began when an X (formerly Twitter) user, who goes by the handle Pierre_O, accused Sabelo of sexual assault. Pierre_O alleged that Sabelo had attempted to rape him at a University of Johannesburg residence.
Sabelo strongly denied the allegations from the outset. In a statement shared on social media, he rejected the claims and maintained that he did not know his accuser.
“I would like to make it known that the person behind the account PIERRE-O and other anonymous people with subsequent posts are unknown to me. I do not know PIERRE-O, and I have never had any interaction with them at any university or elsewhere, let alone had a romantic relationship or otherwise with them,” he wrote.
Charges withdrawn
The sexual assault charges against Sabelo have since been withdrawn, bringing the legal proceedings to a close. Following the development, Sabelo took to X to address the outcome, describing it as the end of a difficult chapter in his life.

Internet reacts
Mind you, the case wasn’t withdrawn cause the allegations were proven to be false, but rather that the case had less chances of leading to a successful prosecution. https://t.co/7nxLwsIQaR pic.twitter.com/xCL7geWpsR
