Unathi reacts to Thomas Msengana replacing Sizwe Dhlomo on Kaya 959

by Staff Bona

South African radio listeners were left surprised this week after Kaya 959 confirmed that Sizwe Dhlomo would be stepping down from the station’s popular breakfast show, Siz the World. The broadcaster officially exits the station after six years on air, with renowned presenter Thomas Msengana announced as the temporary host for the weekday breakfast slot.

The announcement quickly became a trending topic on social media, especially because of the history between Sizwe Dhlomo and former Kaya 959 presenter Unathi Nkayi.

Her reaction quickly gained attention from fans, followers, and friends, with many praising the show of support amid the station’s latest lineup changes.

Media personality Naked DJ commented, “The best to ever do it.”

“ICONIC,” added singer Thabsie.

“Now we will listen to Kaya in the morning,” added another user.

“The irony! I love this… congratulations,” commented one more.

Thomas and Unathi share a personal history, having previously been married. The renewed attention has once again placed Kaya 959 at the centre of entertainment conversations in South Africa.

Thomas Msengana returns to breakfast radio

Thomas Msengana is no stranger to Kaya 959 listeners. The experienced broadcaster previously hosted the station’s breakfast show and remains a familiar voice in local radio.

Kaya 959 confirmed that Msengana will lead the breakfast slot while the station prepares to announce a refreshed permanent morning lineup.

The latest developments mark a major transition period for the station, while fans continue debating what’s next for Sizwe Dhlomo, Thomas Msengana and Unathi Nkayi.
