Online scams continue to rise

Cybersecurity experts have repeatedly warned South Africans about the rise of online fraud linked to delivery apps, fake banking calls and phishing links. Users are encouraged to avoid sharing OTPs, passwords, or sensitive banking information with anyone claiming to represent a company or bank.

Consumers are also advised to verify suspicious calls directly through official customer support channels before taking action on their accounts.
