After Orlando Pirates’ 0-0 home draw with Durban City, Pirates head into their final game of the Betway Premiership season with a visit to Orbit College at Mbombela Stadium this Saturday, needing a win to seal their first title in 14 years.

The current defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, finished their league season early, having accumulated 68 points from 30 games with a goal difference of +36.

Orlando Pirates could have levelled the reigning champions on points if they had won against Durban City last weekend.

Orbit Colleges are currently fighting relegation and will put everything they have on the line to win the match with Pirates. A point against Orlando Pirates will, at the very least, ensure that they do not finish bottom of the table and suffer automatic relegation.

One last push.

Key details to note

The match takes place on Saturday, 23 May 2026 at 15:00 CAT.

Venue: Mbombela Stadium, scheduled to play on DSTV channel 202.

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou blamed a lack of first-half intensity and rhythm for his side’s failure to win the home game over Durban City on Saturday, leaving the race for the Betway Premiership to go down to the wire.

With last week’s draw, this makes the Betway Premiership title race go down to the wire and a chance for Sundowns to potentially win the league.

The Buccaneers are now two points behind the Brazilians and must win at Orbit College this upcoming weekend to prevent the defending champions from retaining the trophy.

The ticket to the last game of the season sold out in five hours, confirming that the match for the crucial Betway Premiership clash is highly anticipated.
